Brief Background
of Training and Placement Office
While
Padre Conceicao
College was started in 1997, the Training and Placement Cell was
started in right earnest in July 1999. Proactive action and hard-work,
commenced in the very first year, we were able to attract blue-chip
corporates like Wipro, Mahindra-British Telecom, Zuari Industries etc.
to our campus.
The Training and
Placement Cell, is headed by Shri Niyan Marchon (M.Tech –
Microelectronics) Assistant Professor TPO, and is also lectures in the
Electronics and Telecommunication Dept. Having worked in companies
like Mahindra Network Services, Mumbai and Texas Instruments India,
Bangalore, Shri Niyan Marchon comes with a strong industry background.
Besides placement activities, he has taken keen initiatives in sports,
social service and extra-curricular activities in Padre Conceicao
College. The cell also functions with the strong and
dynamic assistance of Ms. Alzira Da Costa (BE-Electronics,
MBA), Assistant Training and Placement Officer. She is also a
lecturer in Economics and Management in the Humanities Department. The
Training and Placement Cell is ably supported by Ms. Isabel Noronha,(BA

A Placement

Departments, with representation from all the departments.
Training and
Placement Cell (TPC) ensures that our students are well-equipped to
excel in life and are able to match up to all the challenges that
real-life working environment offers. The most important attribute of
this department is to run it is a very disciplined and organized
manner. Strong efforts have been made by the Training and Placement

September 2003 and the response was overwhelming. At this meet, the
alumni association took a concrete shape based on inputs received from
our ex-students as well as others. The third Annual General Meeting
was held on 10th September, 2005.
A mega
recruitment event HR Connect was organized on 22nd and 23rd
June, 2005. Reputed Companies having national level operations
participated in the event. These include L&T Infotech, iFlex
Solutions, Thoughtworks, Inforeach.
The Training and
Placement Cell organized a Common Placement Test which was conducted
by the college on behalf of the National Technology Foundation,

the IT companies in India and the students, and bring the two to a
