ABOUT CENTRAL
LIBRARY
The Central Library is an excellent state of the art infrastructure
having a unique resource collection which is international in scope.
These resources, both current and historical, are brought together
in one location for the benefit of the students and faculty. The
services of Central Library are rendered online through an
integrated web based Library Management System and in-house
functions like acquisition; cataloguing and circulation are
automated using the LMS software which is connected to the campus
wide network. The subscription of IEE/IEEE Electronic Library,
Springer link and ASME online resources through AICTE-INDEST
Consortium and print journals enable to cater the needs of the
undergraduates, postgraduates, and faculty members. The book
collection has been supporting the teaching, learning, research, and
other professional activities.
DIGITAL LIBRARY
The Central Library established the web based Digital
Library in the year 2007, with an infinite resource of knowledge
made available online to the users of the PCCE family. Digital
library is developed in the PCCE with the help of DSpace digital
library software designed by MIT and HP. The DSpace comprises of
in-house database developed by the PCCE Library staff. The database
includes more than 2000 full-text articles and selected question
papers. In DSpace, users can access the sample question papers,
selected articles relative to syllabus of their course programme.
These resources can be browsed by author, title or by giving
relevant keyword. The Digital Library has future plans to develop
the databases of the periodicals, CDROM collections, student’s
project reports and faculty publications.
The Central Library is the member of
DELNET (Developing Library Network) which facilitates to access
DELNET database which comprises of a union catalogue of member
libraries and conference/seminar proceedings relating to all fields
of engineering studies. This unique subscription keeps international
research outputs and knowledge open to the students and faculty of
PCCE. The Central Library also subscribes to a National and
International journals providing up-to-date information. The demands
of the ever-growing research areas in multiple disciplines is being
catered with the help of latest publications, in almost all fields
of Engineering, Science, Technology and general areas. These
resources and the network established with the DELNET have become a
boon to our students and faculty.
