House Mothers

The mothers of the Balgram are the backbone of the operation. If we didn’t have them, well, there would not be anyone to look after the children as well as give them the love, support and encouragement they need throughout their years.

Some mothers have been here only a few months, others have been here for years, but they all have the same qualities of kindness, compassion, strength and wisdom.

We also staff a counselor for the children and the mothers as well as a nurse every weekday afternoon for minor illness, cuts and bruises. A doctor visits approximately 4 or 5 times a week for the more serious illnesses, which require medical attention.
